Our philosophers have recognized that, “To err is human.” Our court system also recognizes that our judges and finders of fact are also human. Thankfully, most court levels, and other authorities having jurisdiction, also allow for appellate review of court decisions and of other administrative rulings. This means that there is a safety net, by way of appeal, to have important legal decisions determined by judges who have special training in reviewing the decisions of others.
Our firm has been involved in numerous appellate decisions over many years. Our experience has taught us not only how to avoid mistakes that lead to appellate review, but also how to successfully present and argue the circumstances that might help appellate courts appreciate the significance of what are thought to be mistakes by judges and decision-makers.
